Moving towards Production
My group project title is "Play, Agency and Interactive Narrative". In the beginning of being assigned this project I was thrown, as this is not my comfort zone. I am not a gamer and know very little about games but I was opened to learning something new. In my group there are four people; Oscar, Kailan, Finn and myself. We all read through the list of topics that we need to speak about in our video and assigned two topics to each person.
I choose to research and speak about mobile apps, and reasons we game? I found so much information on both topics. I learned what is the most popular mobile app today, who designed it, and how far it has reached out into the world. I then looked up reasons why we game and got the idea to speak about how it can be a huge help to people dealing with autism. I decided I would like to include this piece of information in the video when speaking to a friend of mine who's brother deals with autism himself and he told me how gaming has impact his life in a positive way. I find this to be very interesting because it is spoken about now more than ever which is amazing.
In class we decided to create a survey, which will include 10 questions touching off each of our topics. We are going to give it out to multiple people so we can gain a good variety of answers. We will post it to both first and second year CDM students. We will then post it in our Instagram biography's to gain more information. Today in class we worked on what questions we want to ask and will have a rough draft completed for next Friday.
When we get together as a team and chat I think its's great how we all have so many opinions as this gives a helping hand to one another as each of us think differently and can help add to each persons work. We spoke about making our video fun and how we want to link all of our topics together so it looks more like an interesting discussion than it being all jumbled and confusing to our viewers. We are going to try get an interview with a professional gamer and hope for them to speak about they're own experiences and how they became very successful in the gaming world.
I am most looking forward to getting more research done this week especially with learning of more reasons we game, and creating the survey together to set out statistics to be included in our future video.
