Another Revision

  This is my second time to get feedback but my first time to receive feedback from my fellow class mates. I also had to take part in this task and I must say I found it a very beneficial experience.  I received three comments in my blog posts which I read carefully and tried to thick off all concerns they had. It was great to get views from a variety of people, not too many comments but enough to motivate you to put time and effort into ones work. I believe if one is filled with too many comments it can be more confusing and challenging than ever because you'll try to make everyone happy. From this experience, I have learned many things about my own work but have also learned from others. When reading others opinions its great to get your mind working and I felt myself starting to ask questions. And the elements of digital literacies.    Digital media to me consisted of things like my phone/laptop/iPad and how we have access to a wide range of information. The video made me think about how much has evolved within digital media for things like how quickly we can access information we are not even looking for, for example advertisements before YouTube videos. Another scary thing can be how others get caught up in what people are portraying online that we almost forget to question, what if this article, picture, or post isn't all that true? Post Production

  Post production! We are getting close now. This week has been crazy and I can imagine in the week coming it will be the same. We have worked separately on our own things this week for example what we each want to talk about and bring to the video. I have perfected my speech and got it down to 45seconds.  We have our interview completed and, the statistics of our survey are in which you will hear all about in our video. We each got a copy of how the survey went that Kailan made, and wow the responses were incredible. From us sharing it to creative digital media year one and two, and to our Instagram pages. Media Representations

  This week I watched videos about media ethics and the potential implication for society but mainly focusing on representation in media. Representation is how media like tv, films and books can portray certain types of people or communities.   There are many reasons to why representation matters. It's to give people and culture a voice, they can share their experiences, it represents cultures and shares stories. It is vital for every person, whether in front of the camera or behind the scenes to have a voice. We are constantly seeing content that's very white, and straight. I believe with time things are changing, with my experience of growing up has been quit positive when on the topic of representation. We have had such a participation through social media on "black lives matter" and "pride"(pride even has its own month). Final Rewrite

  I have learned many things through my experience of re-writing. Re-writing is something I have never took participation in before however, it is very beneficial. It made me see how far I have come from the beginning of blogging to now, and the difference in between. Feedback is mainly perceived as a very daunting thing for people which I believe to be true, because we always think the worst. I received feedback of my own from my fellow class mates(as an assignment) and  my lecturer and they all have been very positive experience for me, it was almost like feedforward instead of feedback which I spoke about in a previous blog post.  I read a few articles giving us advice for improving common academic writing issues. One which grabbed my attention was "How to make your writing more concise". I have read two articles on reading techniques, one helped us to learn and understand critical reading techniques and the other was on active reading, both feeding us mountains of information with how we can get work/study done in a more sufficient way.   When I read about critical reading techniques, I found it to be very insightful for future readings/study. You should always know what you are reading was a point that really stood out to me because in truth not everyone does. From my own experience of secondary school majority of people would be asking their friends what topic/page we were on, because they had lost track due to their lack of understanding. School subjects are so broad that you  are not  going to be the best in every class, but you also  should not  be afraid to raise your hand when you do not understand something.   At the beginning of this assignment I have heard about compression related to media however I never gave it a second thought to what it actually is. Media compression is basically reducing file size and saving disk space. There are two types of compression, Lossy- This is when information is removed or lost. Lossless- This means that it is important that no information is lost or changed. I watched many videos from YouTube which I will link below on topics of compression like video/audio compression, changing size etc. Video compression works mainly by minimizing redundancy in the video data. The use of words/data that could be taken out without losing the meaning or function of the video. This could be simply done by taking snippets of repetitive stories/information within the video out.
