Final Rewrite

I have learned many things through my experience of re-writing. Re-writing is something I have never took participation in before however, it is very beneficial. It made me see how far I have come from the beginning of blogging to now, and the difference in between.

Feedback is mainly perceived as a very daunting thing for people which I believe to be true, because we always think the worst. I received feedback of my own from my fellow class mates(as an assignment) and  my lecturer and they all have been very positive experience for me, it was almost like feedforward instead of feedback which I spoke about in a previous blog post.

I read a few articles giving us advice for improving common academic writing issues. One which grabbed my attention was "How to make your writing more concise". Concise writing is using the most effective/strong words in your day to day articles/blogposts etc. They give many examples, which you learn by replacing words it can make your sentence stronger. When writing while thinking about concise writing you must remember to keep it relevant, make sure you have an understanding to the words you use while also providing important and unique information or else it won't make sense.

The second article that grabbed my attention was the active vs passive voice we use. The active voice is used to make sentences more clear for readers and keep sentences from becoming too complicated. When a sentence is passive is when the action is performed upon the sentence subject. But when the sentence is active the sentence subject performs the action. This all seems very confusing however I will leave a link below in my references to show you the examples.

We have learned many things when giving and receiving feedback. I gave feedback four times all at different times to my class mates and I have to say it was nerve wrecking at the beginning to "judge" upon somebody else's work when you have just met them. The articles we have read on feedback and feedforward helped me deal with this process. I am now at a stage where it is no longer a fear more of a great learning curve for both people. I believe I learned from them and also began to critic my own work in the best way, as I would like to believe my writing has came on in leaps and bounds. I am no longer afraid to question work of others or myself.

This is my final rewrite and it has been a great experience. I have learned many ways to benefit my writing skills and took down many notes on all articles read.
